Short-term Study at THU

Tunghai Language and Culture Program is a 3-week program that provides students with unique experiences in high-quality learning, culture exploration and academic development. Students from all over world will share an unforgettable adventure in a multicultural environment. Come to explore Asian cultures and learn the diversity between east and west in the most spacious and beautiful campus in Taiwan. Program Period

Spring: March / Summer: July

  • 2024 Spring Program Period: March 3 to March 23, 2024
  • 2024 Summer Program Period: July 7 to July 27, 2024

Application Schedule

(1) 2024 Spring Program:

  • Application Deadline: December 4th, 2023
  • Payment Deadline: December 22nd, 2023 

(2) 2024 Summer Program:

  • Application Deadline: April 30th, 2024
  • Payment Deadline: May 31th, 2024

Number of Participants

Maximum 40 students

First-come-first-served basis

(Minimum registration: 26 students)

Program Offered

  • Chinese Language Lessons: 45 Hours(spring program);36 Hours( Summer program)
  • Taiwan Culture Experiences: 8 Hours
  • Field Trip: Two Field Trips
  • Multi-Culture Environment: Making Friends with THU students and having culture exchange opportunities
  • Special lectures( Summer program only)

Notes

  • English will be the medium of instruction.
  • Students who have completed the program will be issued official transcripts.

Accommodation

Student will be arranged to stay at designated location arranged by THU. Rooms will basically be shared by 2 students with beds, restrooms, shared shower facilities and air conditioning.

Eligibility

  1. The program is open to students currently enrolled in any of the Tunhgai University Partner Universities and who have been recommended by their respective faculty.
  2. The program is open to students who possess a beginner’s or an intermediate level of Chinese language ability i.e., students who have successfully passed the 3rd level of the TOCFL or HSK. Anyone who have the 4th level of TOCFL is highly likely to feel the Chinese class too easy.
  3. Students who have good academic records of their affiliated university.

Program Fees

USD2100(Spring Program)

  • Including Registration Fee, Accommodation, Airport pick-up and set-off services, Lectures, Culture Experiences, and Field Trip.
  • Flight Ticket and Meals are not included.

USD2400(Summer Program)

  • Including Registration Fee, Accommodation, Airport pick-up and set-off services, Lectures, Culture Experiences, and Field Trip.
  • Flight Ticket and Meals are not included.

Application Procedure  

  1. Nominated by the home universities
  2. Complete the online application form and upload the required documents
  3. Late application is not accepted.

Cancellation Policy

  1. Once the program fee has been received, 90% of the program fee will be refunded for a cancellation before the refund date.
  2. Not refundable after the refund date.
