Airport Pick-up Service | Information for the airport pick-up service are as follows: 【Fall Semaster】 (1)Deadline: 11 August, 2019 (2)Service Dates: 29-30 August, 2019 (3)Shuttle Bus Route: Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport (TPE) → Tunghai University. Resident Visa Information |
1. International degree students need to apply for a Resident Visa before entering Taiwan (with annotation "FS and the name of school")

(General Visa Applications、Category: Resident Visa、Number of Entries: Single) ※If you fail to obtain Resident Visa from your country, you may apply for a Visitor Visa to enter Taiwan, and then change to a Resident Visa after enrolling at THU or before your Visitor Visa expires. 3. Required Documents:
(1)Passport valid for at least six months and one photocopy (2)A filled-out application form with two 2x2-inch color photo (3)Original and one photocopy of admission letter from THU (4)Specific health certificate and one photocopy(Health Certificate (Form B)) (5)Highest education diploma and transcripts (Foreign diploma and transcripts must be authenticated by a ROC (Taiwan) overseas mission. For diplomas and transcripts in languages other than Chinese or English, a Chinese-or English-translation version is also required. The original-language diploma, transcript, and accompanying Chinese- or English-translation must be authenticated by an ROC (Taiwan) overseas mission. If the diploma and transcripts not authenticated by a ROC (Taiwan) overseas mission are sealed and mailed to THU by the school you last studied at, a statement from THU is required. The statement should attest that sealed documents are mailed to THU and you are admitted to THU. (Malaysia and Indonesia students' documents only need to authenticated by Alumni Association) (6)Original and one photocopy of proof of financial support (Proof of financial support from other countries must be authenticated by a ROC (Taiwan) overseas mission.) (7)Other supporting and relevant documents or official letters of approval from a competent authority of the TAIWAN government. 4. Do not use a landing visa to enter Taiwan. If you do so, you will have to leave Taiwan, apply for a new visa, and then reenter. 5. Some designated countries may have specific procedures for applying for the visa. Registration |

Orientation | 1. New Student Health Check-up: All new students are required to have a health check-up for university enrollment. The health check-up will be held on February 15, 2020 on campus. You can go to do the health check-up by yourself or go with sophomores or juniors to do it. You are requested to come with an empty stomach for at least 8 hours. Therefore, it is suggested to fast after 24:00 on the day before the health check-up. International Student Orientation(Registration Day) (1)Time: February 17, 2020 (2)Place: OIR Office 3. Personal Insurance | For freshmen, you need to have your own travel and health insurance (valid for at least 6 months) before arriving in Taiwan. Failing to provide these insurance documents, you will be required to join the International Student Medical Insurance (ISMI) program provided by THU. (1)Fees: NT$3,000 for 6 months. (2)This insurance covers the treatments provided by the clinics and hospitals contracted with the National Health Insurance Administration. (3)Steps for applying for the medical compensation from the insurance company ※Please request the medical certificate of diagnosis or medical diagnostic report and receipts from the hospital/clinic where you have been treated. ※Pay for all your medical treatments, get a receipt and the certificate of diagnosis and bring these documents to OIEP to apply for reimbursement. ※Wait for the insurance company’s evaluation result. Maximum compensation per day is NT$1,000. |
Postal/Bank Account | The post office provides both postal and banking services, including shipping and receiving goods, deposit and withdrawal, etc. There is an on-campus post office located near OIEP. Apart from the post office, bank service is also available on campus. Please see the website of Mega International Commercial Bank as follows: https://www.megabank.com.tw/ Required documents for opening an account at the post office or the bank are as follows: (1)Original and one photocopy of passport (2)Cash deposit of at least NT$100 (3)Original and one photocopy of ARC or a certificate of ROC ID Number (4)「Letter of Consent from Legal Representative for Opening Financial Accounts」 According to Taiwan’s regulations, if you are not yet legal adults (I.e., under the age of 20) to open a bank/post office account, you must submit a letter of consent from your legal representatives or guardians notarized by a ROC overseas mission. Also, if you would like to claim different legal adult age regulations in your own countries, you shall submit relevant documents notarized by a ROC overseas mission for approval. |
