ACUCA Student Mobility Scheme (SMS)

The Association of Christian Universities and Colleges in Asia (ACUCA) was established in December 1976 by a group of enthusiastic Asian Christian university presidents, who under the auspices of the United Board for Christian Higher Education in Asia (UBCHEA), decided that there was a need for a formal association. Today ACUCA has grown into a network of 56 colleges and universities. Currently, ACUCA has 56 member institutions from 8 countries/regions of Asia, namely Hong Kong, Indonesia, India, Japan, Korea, the Philippines, Taiwan and Thailand.

Applicant Qualifications
  1. Be registered in a full-time degree program at one of the SMS participating institutions.
  2. Have attained a cumulative Grade Point Average of not less than 2.50 on a scale of 4.
  3. An average scores on Student Labor Education must above 70.
  4. Attend courses taught in English: TOFEL 550+ or iBT 70+ / Attend courses taught in Japanese: JLPT Leve2+
Scholarships There are two types of subsidies listed below. The participants can apply for both types of financial support.
  1. Living Expenses Subsidy: From 300 to 500 USD per month.
  2. Travel Subsidy: Up to 750 USD.
*These are indicative amounts and the final decision on the amount of a subsidy awarded to each applicant will be made by the Executive Committee.
Required Documents
  1. Application form (click here to download)
  2. Enrollment certificate and copy of students ID card.
  3. Official academic transcript for all semesters.
    NOTE: For undergraduate students, scores on Student Labor Education is required. 
    For graduate students, scores either on Student Labor Program or on conduct is required. 
    For transfer students or graduate students without scores on Student Labor Program, the scores on conduct must be over 80.
  4. Verification of class ranking (in previous two semesters)  .
  5. Study plan (in English, at least 500 words)
  6. Language proficiency certificate photocopy.
  7. Sealed recommendation letter from Dean of the department or the course instructor.
  8. Related documents (eg. certificates of merit in excellent achievement or outstanding awards) .
Applicaion Deadline Spring Semester: February 15. (the result will be announced on early May)
Fall Semester: August 15.
